Angelina Jolie Style
What is the Angelina Jolie style? In a word, mysterious. Imagine if White Oleander’s Ingrid Magnussen were a real person, and not murderously inclined, and you would have the essence of Angelina Jolie. Angelina may be a humanitarian mom, but she still retains the quality of danger in every move she makes. She is part Viking, part spirituality and part anarchist in soul. Even physically speaking, she combines the best of Czechoslovakian, German French-Canadian and Iroquois blood.
Angelina explains herself but her explanations somehow lack the politically-correct rationalizing American society has become accustomed to. She’s the type of fearless woman who revels in telling the press a whopper like “If I fell in love with a woman tomorrow, would I feel that it's okay to want to kiss and touch her? If I fell in love with her? Absolutely! Yes!” She is also the type of woman who is used to surviving scandal after scandal in the media; most recently, the ongoing saga involving Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
Angelina Jolie is feral when she has to be and mysterious to the rest of us, we who can only hope to catch a fleeting glimpse of this elusive, beautiful animal. Her spiritual side is quite complex. After all, she and second husband Billy Bob Thornton exchanged blood vials around their neck as a grand gesture of romance. While she may be a saint to underprivileged children and other charitable causes, she has lived the life of a sinner, as well as a tabloid victim. Much to our surprise however, Angelina never quite took on the role of perpetual victim, at least not in the way predicted. She remains unflinching, steadfast and dedicated—not to her career—but to her own esoteric purposes.
The style of Angelina Jolie is chic, mischievous and excitable. To look more like Angelina accentuate curves and height. Angelina tends to dress in solid highly emotional colors like red, white and black. She’s also the type of bad girl spotted in black leather pants or even in tight fitting jeans. Then of course you have those legendary pouty lips, the type that keeps even a wanderer like Brad Pitt happy.
Angelina is at once postmodern and old-style glamorous. Much of her look borrows ideas from the 1940s styles, while other outfits clearly demonstrate the 2000 decade’s taste for shock. Never be relaxed, that’s the best advice you can hope for when trying to mimic Angelina Jolie’s style.
