Most people have only positive things to say about Brad Pitt.  (Well, Jennifer Aniston not included)  Here’s a guy that has the rare ability to attract women galore while also keeping the attention of every alpha male in the room.  Chances are, if you corner a man and ask him his real feelings on Johnny Depp, he’ll tell you that Johnny’s a bit too “delightful” for his sensibility.  Vin Diesel is not really threatening but is the intellectual equivalent of your slow poker-playing buddy.  Brad Pitt on the other hand is brainy, weird, sophisticated and manly enough for the whole household.  He is the guy you love to love, and occasionally love to hate, though his characters are wholesome for the most part.

Just think about some of Brad’s most endearing movie roles and consider how that must affect his professional reputation.  Everyone fell in love with Brad Pitt in the movie Thelma and Louise, as he played the part of a smug and handsome conman with oily perfection.  It may have been hard for women to take her eyes off Tom Cruise in Interview with a Vampire, but Brad most certainly stole the show as Louis de Pointe du Lac.  His first Oscar-nominated performance came in a quirky film called 12 Monkeys, directed by Terry Gilliam. 

This helps emphasize one of Brad’s best qualities as a showman: he doesn’t care about mainstream fare.  He is far more comfortable working with the most commercially obscure but brilliant minds of cinema.  He has worked with some of the best names in the business in a relatively short career: Ridley Scott (Thelma and Louise), Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven), and David Fincher (Fight Club, Seven, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).  How powerful an actor is Brad?  Consider that Brad is so popular, not just with movie audiences but with directors, that he actually turned down Martin Scorsese (of Goodfellas and The Departed fame) to work with Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu in Babel.  Say what you want about Brad’s intelligence, you know the man has to study good cinema.

What is the Brad Pitt fashion look?  Brad Pitt’s fashion sense can change movie to movie; he was elegantly dressed and mild mannered in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button but was at his grungy best in Fight Club.  He’s a man that looks great in a gray suit or in an Oscar-caliber tuxedo, or looks positively devouring in an old wife beater t-shirt.  Look at one of his finest movie performances sometimes.  You will have to admit that besides that smoking bod, one of Brad’s best qualities is his cinematic soul.
