Brad Pitt Workout
What is it about Brad Pitt that captures the heart and soul of women everywhere? Is it is baby blue eyes, his charming smile or his cascading dimples? Yeah, right. At least part of that unwholesome obsession has to do with the fact that Brad Pitt has a killer body. Just check out his physique in movies like Fight Club or Thelma and Louise. This guy is buffed up and a good body gets noticed regardless of wherever it walks around. Brad’s muscles are of just the right build—he’s not freakish like say the Hulk, but fit enough to punch someone’s lights out in an underground shopping mall.
Brad Pitt has ripped abs, strong arms and a heavy chest. Obviously, this is going to be an intense workout. But hey, if you’ve seen Brad in some of those freak-out movies like 12 Monkeys or Babel you know the guy can be intense. If you’re thinking a crazy WWE-like schedule is just too much trouble, don’t fret. Brad Pitt himself admits he never was a gym-nut. “I’m just not a gym kind of guy. I prefer sitting on the porch with my dog.” He also states that dieting is just as important as strength training and that he does more cardio work than heavy gym exercise. He also admits to smoking in order to cheat his hunger cravings just a bit.
What about the story of the Brad Pitt butt double in the movie Troy? (Oh yes, now aren’t you sorry you missed that one?) That really was Brad’s asset in those selected scenes, as Brad himself explained, “That’s my butt [in Troy]. After working that hard to get my body in shape, I wasn’t about to ask for a butt double.” The director of the film actually said later on that it was Brad’s idea to do the nude scenes, as he had been sculpting his body for quite a time and decided it was time to show it.
How did the Brad Pitt workout go for the Troy shoot? (Presumably his most important one?) He used a low-carb, high-protein diet and did a year’s worth of intensive training. He stated that the first three months were the most challenging. He also spent 2-3 hours in the gym at a time. The most intensive Brad Pitt workout may contain as many as five sets of bench presses, cable crossovers, dips and dumbbell pullovers.
